Transparency & Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: July 2026

At ZoneVerified, trust is our business model. This page explains, plainly and without jargon, how we make money, how we keep our reviews independent, and what you can expect from the content we publish. If anything here is unclear, contact us and we will explain further.

How We Make Money

ZoneVerified is a free resource. We do not charge readers, and we do not put our content behind a paywall. To fund the research, writing, and upkeep that goes into our reviews, we earn revenue in the following ways:

Affiliate commissions. When you click certain links on our site and go on to sign up for or purchase a product, we may earn a commission from that company. This comes at no additional cost to you, you pay the same price whether you use our link or go to the company directly. These commissions help pay for the time and resources behind our work.

We may earn commissions from software companies we write about, including those we review, compare, or recommend in our buying guides. Where a link is an affiliate link, our earning a commission does not depend on you buying, only on the actions permitted under each program’s terms.

Our Commitment to Editorial Independence

This is the part that matters most, and it is a commitment we take seriously.

Commissions never influence our conclusions. We do not raise a score, soften a criticism, or recommend a product because it pays a commission, or because it pays more than a competitor. Our ratings and verdicts are determined by our evidence-based methodology alone. You can read exactly how we evaluate software on our How We Review page.

We recommend software because it deserves recommendation. If a product is a poor fit for a given reader, we say so, even if it is one we could earn from. If the best tool for a particular need is one we earn nothing from, we still recommend it.

We write about products regardless of whether we have an affiliate relationship. Our editorial coverage is decided by what our readers need to know, not by which companies have affiliate programs. Some products we cover, we earn from; some we do not.

No company pays for coverage, placement, or a favorable review. We do not accept payment in exchange for reviews, higher rankings, better scores, or inclusion in our comparisons and guides. We do not publish sponsored reviews disguised as editorial content.

Why We Disclose This

United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines require websites to disclose affiliate relationships, and we agree with the principle behind them: you have a right to know how a publication is funded so you can weigh its recommendations accordingly. Beyond the legal requirement, disclosure is simply consistent with who we are. A publication that asks you to trust its recommendations should be transparent about how it earns its living.

How Our Reviews Are Produced

Every ZoneVerified review is built on evidence, and we are transparent about the kind of evidence behind each conclusion. We draw on verified facts from official documentation, recurring patterns in reputable user reviews, our own independent editorial analysis, and genuine hands-on experience where we have it. We clearly label the type of each review, and we never imply first-hand experience we do not have. For the full details, see our How We Review page.
